ZOZOFIT Helps Men Improve Their Health and Boost Confidence: Stephen DiMarco's Story
For many men, weight loss can be a taboo topic. Most of the wellness and diet industry focus their efforts in this area on women, and prioritize things like counting calories and stepping on the scale. For men, retaining muscle mass and definition is often important, since men typically don’t put their energies toward monitoring the number on the scale.
One ZOZOFIT user, Stephen DiMarco, found that ZOZOFIT helped him reduce his body fat percentage, while keeping musculature.
“I had some muscle in my chest and arms, and I didn’t want to lose it all completely,” he said. “It was important for me to see body fat percentage and I found it to be super accurate.”
ZOZOFIT’s 3D body scanning technology makes all the difference in its user’s fitness journeys. The accurate measurements and body fat percentage calculation allow anyone to work toward their goals without relying on outdated and inaccurate systems like the BMI or tools like the traditional scale.
Using ZOZOFIT for Weight Loss
Stephen first heard about ZOZOFIT when researching weight loss strategies, after he had tried on his tuxedo for his wedding a few months later.
“I was just so uncomfortable…[I thought] even if I could just lose 20-25 pounds in two months, that’s a pretty aggressive goal, but it would probably get me more comfortable.”
Stephen came across YouTube Content Creator Andrew Coleman’s video on ZOZOFIT, which helped him solidify his decision to get the ZOZOSUIT.
Coleman’s views ZOZOFIT as a necessary tool that fits well within Stephen’s framework for weight loss.
“ZOZOFIT reinforces the fact that body composition is a huge factor in fitness and weight loss and building muscle,” Coleman said.
Once Stephen had the ZOZOFIT, he set his mind to his goal.
“I was like, 'All right, I’m going to start going to the gym. I’m going to get the ZOZOSUIT and go full steam ahead and attack from every angle.'”
In the weeks leading up to the wedding, Stephen used ZOZOFIT’s body measurement tracking capabilities to keep track of his progress, and also to reframe his mind about weight loss. Since most of us are so familiar with the scale, it can be easy to turn to measuring pounds instead of looking at body measurements, but body measurements truly give us a better picture of what we actually look like.
“I was trying not to treat it like a scale, where I’m getting on the scale every day and hoping the number goes down and you are retaining water, and it just becomes this big psychological thing. So I was trying to use the ZOZOSUIT where I knew I wasn't going to do this everyday and get crazy about it, but I probably did it every 10 days.”
Since weight loss is a gradual process, it’s important to treat it that way. With 10 days in between each scan, Stephen was able to see noticeable differences.
Maintaining Fitness
After Stephen lost an initial 25 pounds, he moved into maintenance.
“I got back from my honeymoon and I was like, 'I am liking the lifestyle changes I’m making. Clothes are fitting better and I generally have more energy.'”
Since users can set goals with ZOZOFIT, Stephen has been able to monitor and maintain measurements of specific body parts, which is especially helpful when trying to bulk.
“I’m looking less at the waist area and I’m looking more at, like, my arms are a little bigger, my chest is a little bigger.”
By setting up goals in the ZOZOFIT app, it’s easier to maintain fitness and achieve goals.
Transitioning to ZOZOFIT
Moving to ZOZOFIT from the scale or other tracking means may seem overwhelming at first, especially because you have to establish a baseline with body measurements that you may not have had to establish if using a scale.
ZOZOFIT really shines when a user has more than one scan to compare — something that Stephen also noticed.
“Once I had done more than one [scan] and I was able to kind of compare, ‘Oh, in the last 10 days or 20 days I’ve lost 0.3 inches on my waist or 0.1 inches on my chest.’ Once I had a few scans in there, the gaps became wider. I’m seeing huge differences.”
ZOZOFIT works best when users wait 2-4 weeks in between scans, because changes aren’t necessarily noticeable day-to-day. We need that space between to really see how measurements and our bodies change.
In the ZOZOFIT app, users can see a history of their scans and compare back and see your progress.
“Day to day, you don’t really see a noticeable change so it’s easier to have those metrics that you can tie back to say, ‘You may not notice it on yourself, but so far, you’ve lost eight inches on your waist. ’ That is a very extreme noticeable thing to most people when it's presented the way ZOZOFIT does it.
