Using ZOZOFIT to Create a Fitness Routine: Matthew Erhard’s Journey

Matthew Erhard is now 19 months into his fitness journey, but getting to this point took hard work and dedication. In this interview, Matthew discusses how ZOZOFIT helped him with his fitness routine and his overall wellness journey.

When he started using ZOZOFIT, Matthew Erhard found a tool that gave him a better idea of how his fitness journey has improved his overall health, because the fitness tech uses 3D body scanning technology to calculate accurate body measurements and create a 3D mesh of the user’s body. For Matthew, ZOZOFIT was a game changer.

Matthew Erhard is now 19 months into his fitness journey, but getting to this point took hard work and dedication.

For a long time, he struggled with his body weight, body composition, and personal image, but always relied on the scale as a tool to measure his fitness.

“My success was the scale and always being afraid of the number on the scale was sort of like, there it is again. It’s never where you want it to be,” Matthew said.

While using a scale is ubiquitous in the health and wellness community, in recent years many experts have been turning away from the scale because its output —a person’s weight — doesn’t take into account different factors of body composition like muscle mass, body fat percentage, and body fat distribution.

Since it doesn’t give a user a full picture of their health, it’s often difficult for people to translate the results and see their progress and successes.

With ZOZOFIT, Matthew found a tool that gives him a better idea of how his fitness journey has improved his overall health, because the fitness tech uses 3D body scanning technology to calculate accurate body measurements and create a 3D mesh of the user’s body.

“I just think [ZOZOFIT] is such a cool solution, where you get to wear this suit and just use what you have with you all the time — your cell phone — and do a little scan, and it takes maybe 10 minutes max and shows you progress.”

How Matthew Incorporates ZOZOFIT Into His Weekly Routine

Like with any tracker, users need to develop a routine to both see accurate results overtime, but also continue to motivate themselves to improve.

“I think it just provides so much more in-depth analysis as to what’s going on. It gives me a believable body fat percentage versus the silly math that BMI is or smart scales try to give you.”

Matthew incorporates a weekly ZOZOFIT scan. By having it on his calendar, he remembers to do the scan each week.

“It’s part of my morning routine and I’ve got the stand out there and do some check-in progress photos as well.”

ZOZOFIT is also a great fitness tracking tool for anyone who travels often, as Matthew found.

“It’s so easy to do even if I’m traveling or something because all I need, really, is something to prop up my phone and the suit travels really easily. It’s so much easier than hauling other bulky stuff around, and then, it keeps you accountable. So, the accountability is easy to have because it’s easy to travel with everything you need to keep yourself accountable.”

Having a solution like ZOZOFIT has kept Matthew accountable and able to continue working toward his fitness goals, no matter where or when.

Finding Fitness Motivation in Results

For Matthew, being able to see the results from his ZOZOFIT scan has been a huge motivator in continuing on his fitness journey.

He finds it difficult to see the progress he makes everyday, but through the scans and other tracking measures he has implemented, like progress photos, he can actually see how the work he has put in translated to results.

“It’s great to be able to see those measurable things…it gives you the data, and it really helps to motivate and keep the motivation going to continue the fitness journey.”

Using ZOZOFIT for Healthy Weight Loss

Before beginning his fitness journey, Matthew tried Weight Watchers, but like many fad diets, it wasn’t giving him results for his whole fitness.

“You’ve got to realize, this is working to better my life as a whole. Fitness and nutrition is one factor of my life…you have to do something that you’re comfortable doing consistently. Tracking your food everyday and being on a very restrictive diet that you never feel like you break is not sustainable.”

By incorporating exercise, Matthew has developed a healthier relationship to his own body, for which he has reaped the benefits. It’s easy for anyone new to weight loss to begin a restrictive diet or follow very specific rules. With ZOZOFIT, he was not only able to break out of that unhealthy mold, but also see how body composition changes may not translate to the scale.

“I was terrified if I didn’t do X, Y, or Z when I was supposed to do it I would just collapse and go back to square one.”

Now, though, Matthew knows that having a little fun or an indulgence here and there, is not just part of the process, it’s often necessary to healthy weight loss.

“If I have a night out, or we’re going to see a show and go out to eat and have a few drinks, it’s good to be mindful, but it’s okay if there’s a little blip along the way…That’s not going to set you back to score one.”
